Year 2 -31 December 2025 -La Flora -Koh Lak -AOPO Marina -Phuket -Thailand
This will be last blog of Year 2 and tomorrow I will then move on to Year 3 blogs from 1 January 2026.
We woke and had our last breakfast on the beach. We had got used to and have enjoyed the view and the toing’s and froing’s on the beach. We then had to pack which is always a bit sad especially if you are going home. Luckily I am going back to Stormbird and continuing my adventure so it is not so bad for me.
We spent some time by the pool and Jules did her lengths.
We then had to leave our bags in reception and then went for some lunch and then rested again by the pool. The hotel gave us a room so we could have a shower and change. We then caught our taxi at 4.30pm. It had been a good stay at La Flora and done us well for Christmas.
We dropped Jules off at the airport and then the driver took me on to the marina. However, he kindly stopped at a supermarket so I could get a few provisions to last me the next few days. He dropped me off at the marina about 7.15pm and I found a trolley and walked round to where Stormbird was. She was moored quietly waiting for my arrival.
I got on board and was a bit worried about the battery situation as they could not plug me into shore power at the mooring. The 24v was 99% and so the solar panels had been doing a good job. However, the 12v was at 11.4%. I therefore put the generator on to charge the 12-v battery and it took me a number of hours to get it up to about 80%. I know I am due to move tomorrow to a pontoon where I can plug in.
Stormbird was a bit of a mess really after being on the hard and various workmen coming and going. However, I have a few days to sort things out and so I just got my bed ready and turned on the two fridges and the freezer and luckily they all worked first time.
I decided to have an easy supper and made a grand supper for New Year of 3 eggs on toast which was actually very nice. I followed this with cheese and biscuits which I had bought.
My children had bought me a whole load of DVD’s so I decided to watch one -Kingsman -which was quite good. Once this had finished I decided to go to bed as I saw no point in staying up and had a lot to do over the next few days.
The picture of the day is of course finding Stormbird at her mooring.
