Year 2 -23 December 2025 -La Flora -Koh Lak -Thailand

We had a leisurely breakfast looking over a lovely blue sea and the sun was shining. It looked so inviting and so we all went for a relaxing bathe in the sea from which we could look down the beach both ways. It is called Bang Niang Beach.

We then spent the morning relaxing and reading and I did admin. We had a snack lunch at the hotel and then walked into town and looked around. The girls wanted a pedicure so we reviewed the options and they eventually found one which they seemed to like the look of. Jules, Francesca, Isabel and Rosanna had a pedicure and I had a head, shoulder and back massage which was actually quite good.

We then headed back to the hotel and Francesca had booked a restaurant in the town which had been recommended to her by a friend called Noms Family.

We showered etc and got a taxi about 6.30pm and the taxis are essentially pickup trucks with bench seating in the back. The trucks have been pimped up by massive sound systems and lights. It is like been transported in a night club!!. The music blared away and lights flashed as we were driven along to the main drag which was very busy. It really is quite touristy but an experience to see with many restaurants and bars, Thai boxing etc.  .

We found Noms which was a small local restaurant and had a very good simple Thai meal and reasonably priced at about £40 for the 5 of us. It was a lovely evening and we then found a taxi back but this time luckily the sound system was not on!

We had an early start tomorrow as we are going to the Surin Islands on a trip so we had an early night.

Need/Opportunity Year Three

In year three I will be going from Thailand to Sri Lanka, India, Maldives and then on to Mauritius, Reunion, Cape Town, St Helena, Azores and back to the UK.
